Welcome to Egyházaskozár

Our holiday home is located in the south of Hungary, in Egyházaskozár, near Pécs. It is a wonderfully renovated old farm with lots of space. The garden with stables and outbuildings has a fenced area of 5.000 m2 providing a safe playground for your children. The village lies at the foot of the Mecsek Mountains, which is a spur of the Alps. This is a remarkably accessible natural environment where you can meet deers, foxes and wild boars. The stork is a frequent guest around the house. It sits even in the backyard.

The guests will find in this area peace, forests and large water bodies like Lake Balaton and the Danube. Centuries-old towns and picturesque villages can be visited during a nice day trip. Here you can go for a walk, ride a bike or a horse; you can also go fishing, swimming or play golf, basketball, tennis and bowling. The people here are extremely friendly. Most of the inhabitants speak fairly good German and the younger people a little English.

In Bikal, two kilometers farther you will find a castle with excellent restaurants, sport and recreation opportunities in the spa. Almost all the villages in this area have good restaurants. The places Komló, Bonyhád, Dombóvár and Pécs offer a wide choice of attractions and cultural events.

Of course, a visit to Budapest is also recommended. Here you will find excellent restaurants, cafes, terraces and famous resorts such as the Gellért Hotel. Budapest, also called the Paris of the East, offers spectacular scenery of old buildings. A boat trip on the Danube or climbing to the Castle Hill with the Fishermen's Bastion and the old Palace is highly recommended. Tourists, who like diversity and want to get active on the fresh air, are welcomed to enjoy the wonders South Transdanubia and to learn, at the same time, the culture and traditions of this country.
